The complete journey from gold deposit to digital token — transparent, verifiable, and accessible from any mobile phone.
Every step is recorded permanently on the Stellar blockchain. Every step is verifiable by the miner, the BSL, and any independent auditor.
The miner or cooperative brings gold to the SiLeone Gold partner vault in Koidu Town, Kono District. The vault operator weighs the gold and submits it for an NMA assay — a chemical analysis that certifies the gold's purity to .999 fine standard.
The smart contract oracle reads the assay hash, verifies the custodian's cryptographic signature, checks the reserve state, and mints exactly the right number of SLG tokens. 1 SLG is always 0.001 troy oz of .999 fine gold — no more, no less.
The miner dials *747# on any mobile phone — basic Nokia, Android, iPhone — on any network. The USSD menu appears instantly, with no internet connection required. They can check their balance, send SLG to another miner, or begin a redemption.
SLG transfers between wallets settle on the Stellar blockchain in 3–5 seconds. A 0.5% transaction fee is shown on screen before the miner confirms. The fee in SLG terms is always displayed, not in SLE, so there is no confusion about the cost.
The miner can redeem SLG at any time through the *747# menu. Physical gold collection from the vault takes 5 business days. SLE cash conversion through mobile money takes up to 2 hours. A 0.25% redemption fee applies in both cases.
Both fees are hardcoded into the smart contract on the Stellar blockchain. They cannot be changed without a 3-of-5 governance vote with a 48-hour time-lock — fully visible to the BSL. A contract upgrade to the fee logic itself would require the higher bar: a 4-of-5 supermajority and a 7-day public time-lock.
Applied when you send SLG from your wallet to another wallet. Shown in full on screen before you confirm. Compared to 5–8% for traditional remittance services.
Applied when you convert SLG back to physical gold or SLE mobile money. The lowest redemption fee of any gold-backed instrument in West Africa.
All six functions are available from the main menu. The deepest any transaction goes is four steps.
No single point of failure. No single key that can compromise the system. Every layer is independently verifiable.
Every reserve update is signed with the custodian's Ed25519 private key. The oracle contract verifies this signature before accepting any data. If the key is lost or stolen, an attacker cannot publish false reserve data — the signature will fail.
No single person can change any parameter in the system. The smart contract specification defines two tiers of governance protection. Routine parameter changes — fee rates, oracle keys, custodian whitelist — require 3-of-5 multisig with a mandatory 48-hour time-lock. Contract code upgrades require a higher bar: 4-of-5 supermajority approval with a 7-day public time-lock and mandatory GitHub disclosure before any change takes effect. The BSL holds an observer key with real-time visibility of all proposals at both tiers.
The token contract's mint function will not execute without a valid NMA Assay Certificate hash that has not been used before. This check is hardcoded into the Rust source code and cannot be bypassed by any external call, including from the governance contract.
